We’re celebrating one of our pupils who has shown exactly the kind of kindness, responsibility and community spirit we value at Cambian Whinfell School.
At just 10 years old, one of our pupils took it upon himself to head out into Kendal to litter pick to Keep Kendal Clean. While other children his age might be choosing different activities, he chose to give some of his time to help keep our town tidy and welcoming.
This simple act, picking up litter, smiling at passers-by and taking pride in his neighbourhood tells you everything about his empathy, courage and the confidence he has developed in the short space of time he has been here.
What made this especially lovely to see was how naturally wanted to help the community and was opening to developing real-life skills that prepare young people for their future.
Staff described him as thoughtful, determined and quietly proud of his achievement and rightly so.
We’re tremendously proud of him.
