Whinfell School's 'Outstanding' Achievement

11.02.2022

Cambian Whinfell School were recently inspected by Ofsted and we can finally share the amazing results with you!

A full inspection of the school took place in November 2021 (published on the 14th January 2022) and once again rated the school as Outstanding in all areas for the 4th time in row, maintaining an Outstanding rating for the past 10 years!

This is a remarkable achievement, especially since the latest inspection falls under the more rigorous nature of the new Education Inspection Framework.  The report which offers no further recommendations of improvement from Ofsted, comments on the positive difference Whinfell School makes to the lives of its students and the exemplary work in the promotion of personal development.

School Principal, Paddy Sandham, is understandably proud of the latest report and how the determination, effort and dedication of all members of staff has been recognised within it. She said:

"Whinfell School has the most amazing staff team, who put the students at the heart of everything they do.  Education is a journey and we will continue to provide a route that is highly aspirational with an evolving, creative and considered curriculum, ensuring our students get to their destination of choice."

Congratulations, Whinfell School! Read the full report here.

Update: we've even been spotted in the local news here. Thanks for the write up, the Westmorland Gazette!

"A focus on well-being is fundamental to the school’s work. Staff have great success in developing pupils’ character. They successfully raise pupils’ aspirations. Staff also develop the way pupils think about others. In this way, pupils respect and celebrate the differences in others."
