‘Costa del Cambian’

22.07.2021

On 22nd July 2021, Scarborough School transformed itself into a Spanish holiday resort aptly named ‘Costa del Cambian’. This idea was the brainchild of one of our Year 6 pupils! Given that not everyone was able to head off on their usual Summer Holiday’s this year, the school decided to adopt this amazing idea and create their very own ‘Summer Holiday’.

 Scarborough Airport

The 'holiday' started at the Arrivals desk, where each pupil collected their boarding passes and had their bags security screened. After ‘Fit to Fly’ Covid testing, they waited in the Departure lounge before proceeding upstairs to take their individual seats on the 'plane'.

Once safely aboard, the 'Pilot' delivered a safety speech and breakfast was served as the pupils watched the film ‘Inside Out’ as part their inflight entertainment.

On arrival at ‘Costa del Cambian’, pupils departed the 'plane' and headed out to have some fun in the sun with a range of outdoor activities. These included a sand treasure game, choosing drinks from a Mocktail bar, having their picture taken with wacky glasses and silly hats and playing water balloon games.

There were paddling pools, sand pits and bubble machines to play in, as well as beach mats and comfortable chairs for the pupils to relax and enjoy the sun. The menu for the day included some Spanish Tapas, as well as some holiday favourites such as hot dogs and burgers served with salad.
