Our recent student excursion to Wildwood Devon’s Saxon Village offered an exceptional, hands-on journey into early medieval history. Stepping into the authentic wattle-and-daub settlement, students transitioned from classroom theory to practical archaeology.

The Duke of Edinburgh students should be incredibly proud of completing the expedition section of their award, which involved canoeing down the beautiful River Dart and camping at Buckfastleigh. Throughout the expedition, they showed great determination, resilience, and teamwork, supporting one another every step of the way.
